Apple Poster Layout adds a full-bleed portrait layout to your pass on iOS 27 and later. It sits alongside your existing layout, which continues to appear on earlier iOS versions, so your current Cover Image and pass design still matter.
Poster Layout only affects Apple. Your Google Wallet configuration stays the same.
Enable Apple Poster Layout
In the Design section of the Front of Pass tab, scroll below Cover Image and turn on Enable Apple Poster Layout. When enabled, Badge adds the iOS 27+ layout and reveals Poster Artwork and Suppress header darkening gradient.
Add Poster Artwork
Poster Artwork is the full-bleed image used for the iOS 27+ layout. Upload a PNG at 1074 × 1509 px.
Your artwork and Cover Image serve different layouts, so treat them as separate design assets. The Cover Image continues to support the legacy layout, while the new artwork becomes the background for Poster Style.
Cover Image Banner Text is only used on the legacy Apple layout. It does not appear on Poster Style or Google Wallet.
How your fields carry over
Poster Layout reuses the fields you’ve already configured in Badge: your logo and header stay toward the top, secondary fields become the main pass content, and your barcode remains on the front.
Two behaviors are worth knowing:
Hero value
If the first secondary field has no label, Apple displays its value at a larger size as the hero of the pass. Use this intentionally for information you want to emphasize, like a points balance, member name, or offer amount.

Footer Title
The Footer Body appears on Poster Layout, but the Footer Title does not. Both appear on Google Wallet.
The footer is not supported on the legacy Apple layout (iOS 26 and earlier), so neither the Title nor the Body appears there.

Text colors
On Poster Style, Apple automatically chooses light or dark text based on your artwork. Your Label color and Value color settings apply only to the legacy Apple layout on iOS 26 and earlier.
Because Apple controls the final colors on device, download a test pass to check contrast on an iPhone after you upload your artwork. You can access test passes by scanning the QR code in the phone icon tab as shown below
Design for barcode safe areas and readability
Poster Style places pass content over your artwork, so compose the image with those overlays in mind.
Three things matter most:
Barcode placement: Keep important subjects and details clear of the lower area used by your barcode. Square formats like QR use more vertical space in the center, while wider formats use more horizontal space.
Header readability: Keep the top of the image relatively simple so the logo and header stay legible. Solid or visually quiet areas tend to work better than busy imagery.

Use the template as a starting point, then confirm your composition in the iOS 27+ preview with the barcode format you actually plan to use.
If your artwork already has strong contrast behind the logo and header, you can enable Suppress header darkening gradient. Otherwise, leave Apple’s default darkening treatment on.

Use the iOS 26 / iOS 27+ switch below the Apple preview to review both versions before publishing.
Badge's preview is designed to match the iOS experience as closely as possible, but Apple controls the final rendering on device. Download a test pass via the phone icon to install the pass on your Apple device before publishing.
On the iOS 27+ version, confirm that:
important artwork stays clear of the barcode
automatic text colors are readable over your artwork
the logo and header have enough contrast
the hero field and footer appear as expected
