What are Mobile Wallet Campaigns?

Campaigns are a core feature of the Badge platform that let you engage pass holders with targeted, timely messages. Whether you're driving foot traffic, promoting an offer, or boosting event attendance, campaigns give you a direct line to your users through their mobile wallets.

Key Benefits

Campaigns help you reach the right people at the right moment. With targeted segmentation, you can send personalized notifications to specific user groups rather than blasting your entire audience. This relevance drives higher engagement, better conversion rates, and more meaningful interactions with your brand.

Types of Campaigns

1. Standard Push Notification

A standard push notification is sent directly from Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. When a user taps the notification, they're taken to their pass, where the message appears on the back.

The experience varies slightly by platform:

  • On Google Wallet, users land on the front of the pass and see a "View Message" callout at the top, which links to the full message on the back.

  • On Apple Wallet, users are taken directly to the pass, with the notification content appearing as the top field on the back.

2. Push Notification with Pass Change

This campaign type combines a push notification with a temporary update to the pass itself, ideal for limited-time offers or events. You can set a start and expiration date, and when the campaign ends, the pass automatically reverts to its original state.

During the campaign window, you can update the cover image, pass fields, barcode or QR code data, geolocation message, and back-of-pass content, giving you full control over how the pass looks and what it communicates.
